Michael Gray Memorial Race

The race is to honor Michael Gray, former Windham Mountain snowboard instructor, who was tragically killed in an auto accident. This race is open to all skiers or snowboarders. W.A.F.A. Calcutta Auction & Race
Windham Athlete Freestyle Association (W.A.F.A.) will sponsor the 1st annual Calcutta Auction & Race March 8-9, 2008.
Hunter Mountain
A Calcutta is a combination race and auction. It is a blend between a World Cup race, mogul event and a day at Saratoga. It consists of five person teams that can be bought or auctioned off with the idea that the team you buy wins the race. A team can pool their money and buy themselves, only to be bought by a higher bidder in the auction. The object is to purchase the potentially winning team for the least amount... but be careful you don't get out bid! Saturday night, March 8, at 7pm the dinner and auction will be held on the third floor of the lodge. A pasta dinner with all the fixins will be $30 per person. Competitors pay $10. Sunday morning, March 9, the teams will start out on the NASTAR course, where the first event takes place. The deadline for team registration is Monday, March 3, by 5pm. Open to skiers who are comfortable on blue square terrain or better, this workshop is designed to enhance your bump skills through a variety of drills that enhance short turns and mogul skiing ability. Learn how to pick the best line, and use different tactics to navigate even the toughest of bump fields. Mogul workshops meet by Jerry's Deli in the Main Lodge 8:00am - 3:00pm.
